About G.R.A.C.E.

G.R.A.C.E. is a youth-oriented organization that was created by Shawana Canty of Columbia, TN. It centers itself around providing counsel and guidance to young people of the community.

Shawana has a great passion for helping young girls and guys see their worth, reach their dreams, and help them come to realize what healthy relationships are.

She started speaking in church about being abused and what it means to love one’s self. In 2011, she co-chaired a youth empowerment conference with over 90 young lady attendees. It consisted of different facilitators, and here Shawana spoke about healthy and unhealthy relationships that women and young girls have or can have with men. She also constructed a fashion show whose point was to illustrate to young women how people perceive them based on how they dress. It centered around what to and what not to wear.

Shawana has spoken at various places, like Central High School, Alternative School for Tennessee Children With Voices program, and at various churches and public functions. After Shawana started to speak up about her past early on, many young girls and women opened up to her about their hurtful pasts in order to seek counsel, and this only furthered her desire to want to continue to help others achieve more.
